Welcome

2022 welcome back!

Dear Gridley Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope your summer was exciting and fun! It is always a joy to be able to spend time in the summer (even a short summer) with your family and friends.  I want to WELCOME all new students and families to Gridley!  It is a great place to be!  I know the students are getting ready for their return to school and we are preparing for their return as well. J

Here are a few reminders:
  1. School starts @ 8:25 a.m.
    1. Supervision will be provided on campus at 7:45 a.m.  Please remember that your child should not be on campus before 7:45 a.m. for safety reasons.
  2. School dismissal for 6th – 8th is at 3:30 p.m. (Mon, Tue, Thurs., Fri.) and at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

It is very important that your students are on time each day.  Tardiness is not acceptable and has a negative impact on their learning.  All tardy students must sign in at the front office and receive a tardy admit slip to class.  Parents need to accompany their child into the building to sign them in for security purposes.   If your child will be absent, please call Ms. Lorena Ramirez, the attendance tech. at 731-4602.

Safety is always a priority at Gridley Middle School.  Therefore, all doors to the school and perimeter gates will be locked during the school day.  Please remember to use the appropriate drop off and pick up areas located at the South parking lot (off of Stefan Rd.).  There are two lanes of traffic. The inner lane is for pick up/drop off and the outer lane is for exiting the area.  Please remind students to use the marked crosswalk areas.

We also ask that you pay attention to all our designated parking and no parking area signs.  We ask that you stay in your vehicle during drop off/ pick up times for safety of the students and effective traffic flow.  Please do not park across the street from the school on Stefan. Parking there makes it difficult for our buses to move into and out of our bus bay. It is also designated as a “No Parking” zone.  At dismissal, all students will be escorted to their designated pick-up area (South parking lot).

Gridley Middle School teachers and staff are committed to providing the best education for your students. We need your involvement, ideas, and support.  Feel free to call me at 731-4600 or email me at [email protected]  You can stay informed about our school and upcoming events by visiting our website at [email protected]
